Fall Fun

We braved our first camping trip in September. It was actually a lot of fun and the thing I was most worried about (sleeping in the tent) was a breeze!

We went to the pumpkin patch this past week and Andrew had a blast. For some very unclear reason, they also had exotic animals at the end of the "petting zoo". Totally threw me off but Andrew thought it was great. While this picture is sort of hard to see, that is a giraffe very near Andrew's head. He got to feed it a carrot straight out of his hand...not sure that will ever happen again in this little guy's life!

Of course, he picked the biggest pumpkin he could find. The thing weighed nearly 40#!

He thought the baby pigs were quite cool.

Look My Toes

I made the mistake last night of painting my toes while Andrew took a bath. As soon as he saw what was going on, he wanted in on the action. "Paint my toes" he kept saying. So I figured, why not. It is hard to see but he really did paint his toes and was still quite proud of it when he woke up this morning. Oh, I'm sure this will make daddy proud!

Summer Fun!

Andrew had a Happy 4th of July!

Enjoying time with Grammy at the Museum of Science and Industry..

Wow - we've had lots of fun at the beach this summer..

Just the three of us...

Hey Little Froggy...

First Kiss! Lillian is my friend, Lisa's, darling daughter and Andrew took quite a liking to her!

Nothing to cure a grey day like a Fort (or "fork" as Andrew calls it). We played cars, read stories, and ate lunch in this little fort!

Seriously big boy! He now asks to see himself in the mirror when he puts on his hat and tennis shoes.

Fresh Air

This is why I love home so much!

Taking a walk with Nami...

Looking for fish with Papa...

However, my real home isn't so bad, either. Andrew loves to run through the fountain at Millennium Park...

And Lord knows he loves to play soccer at the field near by...

Traveling Man

We had a great visit with John's family in Michigan last weekend. Andrew got to stay for a few extra days, too, while John and I went to Florida for some long overdue R&R.

The Boys

My snuggle bug. He can be such a ball full of love.

Catching up

Well, it has been quite some time since I've updated what is going on in this little man's life. Today I officially started part-time work which means I will hopefully have more time to take care of fun things like the blog (but mostly time to hang with Andrew and get my life in order!). Over the past few months, he seems to have focused his attention on mastering "play soccer ball", playing hide-n-seek, and developing an obsession with the movie Cars. Thank goodness it is a pretty cute movie! Otherwise, he has learned many new words and phrases, counted to ten by himself, learned his colors, and learned several songs (mostly you can just understand the tune but cute nonetheless). He is growing like a mad man and cracks me up on a daily basis. That is essentially this little man, Mr. John Andrew's, life in a nutshell. Here are some photos and videos that have been taken along the way.

Are you looking at me kid?

Hi, my name is Andrew. I look like a 5 year old today.

John keeps teaching him other "happy and you know it" verses but my favorite are the "kiss your mama/dada/etc"

Almost wearing a hat

Finally, some smiles for the camera. Now he says, "cheese!"
